The Fono on Theological Education, Moana Water of Life II conference ends with a Thanksgiving Service at Holy Trinity Cathedral
Suva, Fiji
Gathered at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Suva, Fiji on Sunday, the 11th of August 2024, participants from our region and beyond the Pacific Oceans celebrated the culmination of an extraordinary week with thanksgiving after attending a week-long FONO on Theological Education and the Moana Water of Life II conference. This diverse gathering included members of the Global Anglican Church, scientists, academics, and theology students, all coming together in a shared journey of faith and learning.
The service was led by the Most Reverend Sione Silongo Uluilakepa. We were honored to have all the remaining Archbishops present in Fiji for this significant occasion. Bishop Nicholas Chamberlain delivered an inspiring sermon, while Archbishops Julio Murray and Justin Duckworth contributed to the liturgical aspects of the service, enriching our worship with their profound insights and leadership.
Today's Eucharist service was a particularly moving experience, as we incorporated Pasifika traditions and cultural elements into our liturgy. This blending of sacred rites with our rich cultural heritage not only enhanced our worship but also underscored the resilience and unity of the Pacific Church. It was a heartfelt celebration of our shared faith and cultural identity.
As we conclude this momentous week, we reflect on the connections made, the knowledge shared, and the spiritual growth experienced. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to come together in this sacred space, strengthening our bonds and celebrating our shared mission.
Thank you to all who participated and contributed to the success of the Moana Water of Life event. Your presence and involvement have made this week truly memorable. May the blessings of this gathering continue to inspire and guide us as we move forward in our collective journey of faith.
