The Anglican Church – Diocese of Polynesia, continues to grow in faith and mission under the guidance of our spiritual leaders. In a meeting with the Archbishop of the Diocese of Polynesia (DOP), all priests in charge and clergy serving in Suva and Ovalau are reminded of their sacred responsibilities. This gathering serves as a crucial opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the Church’s vision and expectations.

As stewards of God’s flock, it is imperative that we align our ministries with the Archbishop’s Charge and the DOP Strategic Plan 2024-2030. This document provides a roadmap for strengthening our Church’s mission in the coming years, emphasizing Ministry training and Theological Education, Worship and liturgy, Human resource and Diocesan structures, Just response to Social and Ministry Needs, and Preparedness in light of natural disasters/climate change. Clergy are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the plan’s key priorities and integrate them into their parish ministries.

One of our primary duties is to ensure the growth of future Church leaders. The training of ordinands for the priesthood at St. John the Baptist Theological College is essential in sustaining our mission. Priests are urged to identify and actively engage potential candidates from their parishes, preparing them through lay ministry training. This foundational experience will equip them with essential knowledge, spiritual discipline, and pastoral skills needed for priestly formation.

In addition to the Suva and Ovalau clergy meeting, another gathering will be held for priests serving in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. These meetings will provide opportunities for shared learning, encouragement, and strengthening of our bonds as servant leaders. Clergy members should come prepared to share insights, challenges, and best practices in pastoral care and church administration.

As we serve in God’s vineyard, let us remain steadfast in our calling, fulfilling our duties with faithfulness, humility, and dedication. This meeting with the Archbishop is not just an administrative gathering but a spiritual renewal—a call to deeper commitment in our roles as shepherds of God’s people.

Let us prayerfully prepare for this gathering and seek God’s wisdom as we strive to build a stronger and more vibrant Church.
