On Saturdays, the student community at St. John the Baptist Theological College and their families dedicate time to communal work, fostering a spirit of unity and stewardship. This collective effort involves cleaning student flats and maintaining the backyard, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment. In the spirit of sustainability, students and their families also engage in planting taro and pele plants, cassava, plantains, and some vegetables to help with the daily food supply of the community as well as contributing to the college’s self-sufficiency and connection with nature. The initiative extends to painting the interior and exterior flats, prior to students moving in to start the academic year which not only revitalizes the living spaces but also instills a sense of pride and ownership among the residents. These activities are more than chores; they are a testament to the community’s commitment to service and care for their shared home.

In addition to communal work, St. John the Baptist Theological College has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of student life. The College’s commitment to providing essential amenities has significantly improved the comfort and convenience of student accommodations. This support is a cornerstone of the college’s nurturing environment, allowing students to focus on their academic and spiritual growth in a setting that feels like home. Students with carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills are also used by the college to help repair and fix damaged items on-site. Some students have musical talents, such as singing and playing musical instruments. These talents are utilized extensively in The College to carry out its obligations and responsibilities, especially in worship and thanksgiving services.
