MM501 - Talaiga: The Mission of the Diocese of Polynesia (DOP) in a 3 Tikanga Church

Course Overview

• This paper examines the framework of the Constitution/Te Pouhere of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa New Zealand and Polynesia with a focus on the principles of ‘partnership’ and ‘bicultural development’ for mission and ministry in a ‘Three Tikanga Church’. i.e. Tikanga Polynesia, Tikanga Maori, and Tikanga Pakeha. The participants will also be given the opportunity to explore the history of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa/ New Zealand and Polynesia, the Christian ethic of ‘right relationships,’ and the Anglican Communion’s Five Marks of Mission’ as they speak into the mission and ministry of Tikanga Polynesia.
