LT501 - What is Liturgy? What is Liturgical Theology?
Course Overview
This paper allows students to learn to write liturgy based on general principles. They will explore the dynamics of worship and what makes a ‘good’ liturgy. They will explore how culture informs worship and liturgy. They will explore what ‘liturgical theology’ is and how the four elements (catholicity and conceptuality; the transcendence and the immanence of God; form and freedom; divine revelation and human experience) are held in creative tension in worship. They will critique actual worship settings for the dimensions raised above.
