A Milestone in Shared Theological Formation
Kohimarama, Solomon Islands
St John the Baptist Theological College warmly congratulates the Rev’d Deacon Tapu Naicegulevu on his ordination, marking a significant milestone in the growing collaboration between St John the Baptist Theological College in the Diocese of Polynesia and Bishop Patteson Theological College, Anglican Church of Melanesia, in the Solomon Islands.
Deacon Tapu was sent by the Diocese of Polynesia to undertake theological studies and ministerial formation at Bishop Patteson Theological College. He is the first student to be sent through this developing partnership, which seeks to create meaningful pathways for theological education, shared learning, and formation for ministry across our Anglican communities in the Pacific.
The Principal, the Rev’d Liliani, represented St John the Baptist Theological College at this joyous occasion and gave thanks for the hospitality, support, and guidance extended by Bishop Patteson Theological College and the Anglican Church of Melanesia.
This ordination reflects the value of cooperation between our institutions and the wider Church. We are particularly grateful for the ongoing encouragement and leadership of the Archbishops of the Diocese of Polynesia and the Anglican Church of Melanesia, whose shared vision has made this partnership possible.
As we celebrate Fr. Tapu’s achievement, we look forward with hope to future collaborations, including opportunities for further students to be sent to the Solomon Islands for theological study and formation. The partnership also opens possibilities for both colleges to share resources, experience, and expertise for the strengthening of ministry throughout the region.
Congratulations once again, Fr. Tapu. May God continue to guide, sustain, and bless you as you serve Christ and his Church.
